How We Ended Up in the French Alps

Our story with the Grand Massif began in 2013 when we came to Les Carroz for a catered chalet holiday. We fell in love with this corner of the French Alps and what started as a conversation about one day living in the mountains quickly became a reality.

Life at Chalet Le Pery

At the time we were living and working in Jersey, Channel Islands, but in November 2014 we took a leap of faith, left the life we knew behind and bought Chalet Le Pery. More than 11 years later, we're still building the life in the mountains that we dreamed of.

When we're not looking after guests, we love making the most of where we live. Winter involves plenty of skiing, or Telemarking for John — while the warmer months are spent walking, Parapenting and continuing to discover new corners of the French Alps.

An Owner-Run Chalet

Chalet Le Pery is very much our home and our business. From your first enquiry to the moment you leave, you'll be dealing directly with us.

Whether we're preparing your meals, taking you to the slopes or sharing our favourite walks and places to visit, we're always happy to use our local knowledge to help you make the most of your time here.

Meet Poppy & Ouchka

And then there are Poppy and Ouchka, our two dogs from the Reunion Islands who joined us in 2018 and are now very much part of life at Chalet Le Pery.

They're familiar faces to many of our returning guests and are often specifically asked about before guests arrive — sometimes we suspect people are more excited to see them than us!
