Telemark Freeride Safari 2026
Are you looking to improve your Telemark skiing?
Do you want to learn how to free your heels in the backcountry?
If you’d like to meet other like-minded Freeheelers this could be just what you are looking for!
New for January 2026, here at Chalet Le Pery we will be hosting a week long “Telemark Freeride Safari” aimed at intermediate to advanced telemark skiers looking to take their telemark skiing to the next level!
We will provide instruction and guiding for telemark skiers wishing to learn or improve their off-piste freeriding skills, with 6 days of Telemark skiing tuition and guiding, starting here in the Grand Massif. The aim of the week is to work on improving your telemark skiing technique and confidence in the backcountry all while getting to experience differenent ski areas in the Haute Savoie.
The week will start with 2-3 days in the Grand Massif to work on your technical skills with our friend and local Telemark ski instructor Thibaullt Sollier from the ZigZag ski school in Samoëns. For the remainder of the week we will ski (subject to weather and snow conditions) at different local resorts i.e Chamonix, Porte du Soleil or Courmayeur, all under an hours drive from the chalet.
Depending on conditions there may be some short ski tours (1 hour maximum) or some short hikes to access and search out the best snow.
The last 2 days will include the additional services of a local high mountain guide to allow us to access more complex terrain and allow the group to make the most of the snow conditions.

Physical requirements.
We all know telemark skiing is physical and the offpiste even moreso, so clients must have a good level of fitness (able to ski tour or boot pack for up to an hour) and be capable of skiing a black run with confidence (we are here to work on technique and style😉)
